Hello Alison, and a very warm welcome to Service Design Sydney.

So this site is something a few of us (Zafer, Justin, Linda, Joseph, Fiona, Katja) talked about first at UX SD 12 and also at the #NewtownCM this morning – a social site created by the service designers of Sydney for the service designers of Sydney.

Of course there's already a lot going on in Sydney – but we felt an online social context was also possible – and the SD ning site in Melbourne was an inspiration too.

This being a social site the more we all do here the more interesting it becomes for everyone.

While there's no editor deciding what gets published there may be just a bit of post facto moderation to keep it clean and on-topic.
